First Look Appearance of ‘Toy Story 3’ Hawaiian Short

The entire “Toy Story” gang is come back and in Hawaii! Okay, not really in Hawaii, but Bonnie's bedroom.

Entertainment Weekly has the first images of the upcoming six-minute short called, “Hawaiian Vacation,” which will precede “Cars 2” in theaters on June 24.
“Woody becomes kind of like what’s-his-name on ‘Love Boat’…Captain Stubing!” said director Gary Rydstrom to EW.

The short’s plot is “when Barbie and Ken bunble plans to stow away on a tropical excursion, Woody, Buzz & Co. recreate a romantic getaway in the toy box” for them.
“As toys who get played with all the time, they have a pretty good imagination,” added Rydstrom. “When it’s time for a little playacting, they’re good at it.”

Hindi film Directors turn over a new dimension

In a bid to increase the thrill quotient of their products, Hindi film directors are now turning to the 3D format. 

Director Vikram Bhatt is ready with his horror flick Haunted which is being touted as the country’s first stereoscopic 3D film.

Likethat, Shirish Kunder has kickstarted his ambitious 3D project Joker, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. 

“The fashion and technology are new. We had to acquaint ourselves with the technology, learn it and adapt to it,” said Bhatt, who has roped in international 3D technicians and support cluster for the project. He added that Haunted uses the latest digital 3D cinematography and projection techniques seen in the Hollywood hit Avatar which has made the format popular worldwide.

The film will hit theatres in April this year. UFO Moviez, a digital cinema network, has tied up with Bhatt for the film’s exhibition in India. Plans are afoot to equip 500 Indian theatres with 3D capability.

“This initiative of promoting Indian 3D content is an important step in our strategy to leverage the future develope potential of this technology,” said Kapil Agarwal, joint managing director, UFO Moviez.

“3D is the medium of the future,” agreed Kunder, adding that he is in talks with some Hollywood technicians to work with his film. “The next big leap for cinema after colour is 3D.”

However, the new format does not come cheap. Bhatt revealed that the cost of a 3D film is nearly 40% more than the budget of a regular 2D movie.

Justin Bieber and John Lennon are excellent with kids

Singapore: When kids around the world go online, they share one huge thing in common when they search under entertainment, and that’s music.

A study on top enjoyment searches, depends on more than 20 million anonymous search-engine queries from childs in 20 countries, including Singapore, found that more than 75 percent of entertainment online searches were for listening songs or musicians.

The top of the excellent 20 is Justin Bieber, who's the number one in term of searches, in every country except for India, China and Japan.

One possible reason for the online pole position held by the teen singing star is his bold web presence.

The 16-year-old who begin as a street performer in the small town of Stratford, Ontario, rose from a YouTube phenomenon to universal super star.

His life story winning in the movie "Justin Bieber :Never Say Never" opens in US cinemas this week, and in Singapore in April, in both 3D and 2D.

Beiber-mania is also most likely to remain strong in 2011 with the live web continue on 9 February of the gala premiere of his movie in Hollywood.

Fans around the world were able to capture the movie premiere that was streamed live for the first time by Paramount, and included exclusive behind-the-shots and never before seen clips.

Outside of the online world, entertainers who capture the originality proved to remain a draw.

Iconic Lady Gaga though famous among the young online users, could only manage to emerge third after someone she would most likely gracely make way for, ex-Beatle John Lennon.

Even with other fellow-Beatles like Paul McCartney still to make music, it was Beatles songwriter Lennon who turned up as the second most famous entertainer.

Oddly enough, Lennon who died in 1980 when even the parents of some the kids conducting the online searches were children, was popular in Singapore, along with Australia,New Zealand,Malaysia and the USA.

Where the children did not contradict, according to the Norton information, was the songs that they wanted - Dynamite by Taio Cruz, the World Cup 'anthem' by Shakira, Waka Waka, and Teenage Dream by Katy Perry.

Pop songs comprised 13 out of the top 25 entertainment searches said the report which tracked a sample of Norton Online Family service users between August and December 2010.

After music, the other entertainment draw for the young online association was TV but again, music formed an essential element.

Reality shows such as American Idol was top, followed not far behind by cartoon series Ben 10, perhaps for its interactive online games.
